Home chew stop solution for dog with broken leg in cast?

My dog is in a cast for a broken rear leg for at least 4 more weeks! Ugh!!!
He is doing very well in recovering however he has started to become well…ticked off! with the cast and all the bandages and padding and has started tearing it apart. There is nothing else wrong and he only does it in the cage at night. He does not chew it another time. He’s chewing and ripping little pieces off whittling down the cast a 1/4 of an inch at a time. He goes back to the vet on Friday for stitch removal and rewrap of the cast but I’m looking for find a solution to put on the cast to prevent him from chewing as much as possible. The cast was molded to fit and then cut into sections so they can remove it during his checkups and the is rewrapped with tons of padding and bandages. So it’s not a hard outside cast. I tried layers of duct tape last night but he just chewed thru it too. He’s getting about a loose handful of debris every night from it.

Has anybody ever heard of having to have a “trip cant” replaced in a room to avoid water leakage?

An add-on room to a 2 story home – constant leak coming in same spot. Had everybody and anybody to fix and including engineer’s and complete removal of drywall and ceiling and insulation also mold remediation. The door above the room on the deck that is above this room was fixed also.. In 5 years this problem never stopped no matter what was done. New owners bought it (we explained all problems including receipts and all information). Their home inspector was aware of this and in a about 3000 ft beautiful home/beautiful landscaping, he did a 10 minute inspection. Three month’s later the new owners claimed a repairman (they sent us a letter) told them they needed to buy a new "trip cant." So…….we still wonder, what’s that???
Fact is, of course, they bought the house ‘as is’ but they kept up with the letters and threats – driving us crazy. They knew they were wrong but they have a family full of lawyers and judges.

Never heard of a "trip cant" and I’ve been in the business for 30 years. Probably someone made up the name for something they didn’t know the proper name for. And if they did that then you can rest assured they don’t know what they’re doing to begin with. You’re right, the new owners have no recourse. They bought the house as is and were made aware of the problem beforehand. If you are inclined to pay for this repair however, get something more than this "handyman’s" solution to the problem and I’d also get a lawyer. It may cost you more than the supposed repair but it would teach these people a lesson. I hate people like this. Good luck.

Water damaged and moldy plaster ceiling?

I think I posted this to the wrong category earlier. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought a house and have been renovating it. When I removed a drop ceiling from a bedroom, I found an extremely damaged (pieces missing, cracks, holes, you name it) plaster ceiling with what I suspect is black mold on it (the damage and mold were missed by the home inspector). The roof is not an issue, the ceiling doesn’t leak anymore. I suspect the plaster ceiling was in such bad shape the old owners just put a drop ceiling in to cover it and made sure the roof was okay.

i had a huge battle with condo owner, i complained of mold, he had me evicted, im suing etc… record blemish?

hey i had a huge battle with an idiot that i rented a condo from for 4yrs. the place was awesome! the location was awesome etc. in fact the condo association would use my unit to show too prospective tenants etc. heres the deal, i returned from a business trip, and found a huge mount of mold! it destroyed everything in my place. in the 12mos prior i had 5 emergency room visits for breathing problems, the doctors couldnt find any reason why i could not breathe properly etc. i talked with a neighbor whom was moving out etc. he had a clear visible bad of inhalers and pill bottles i asked em about his breathing problems. he mentioned the place was full of mold! so i knew at this point he was sick, i was sick, and i asked around and found other tenants with huge mold and breathing problems as well! i asked the owner for assistance in mold removal he said uh well uh you turned off your utilities a few mos ago and this caused the mold? i did turn off my utilities as i was out of town a few months as they were gouging people on water bills, my water bill was 140.00 a month for a 1 bdrm condo! insane! so yea i turned off the utilities too show them i wasnt not living there ( stayed at my girlfriends etc) so when they hit me with utility scams, i showed them proof i was not even their, i was just riding out the lease etc. the mold ruined all furniture, clothing, and after checking in depth ie. behind baseboards etc. the mold was black and dangerously high everywhere! i took pics and videos of the damage. i called health dept. and they said they hadnt seen mold like this in 10yrs! they couldnt figure it out etc. they processed me for eviction as i would not pay rent etc. i went too court and waited, they hadnt called my name, i asked court official if they were going to call my name? he said stand outside, they would. i checked 20 min later, he said oh yea, they called your name, they evicted you and youve got too be out in 3 days. i moved out asap, ive got an appt. with a lawyer for damages, but im concerned about the eviction on my record when i go to purchase home or rent again, any advice? can i sue them and get this removed from my record? can a lawsuit find them negligent and trump the small claims court decision? can i sue for mold damages? thanks!

no. you can’t sue. that’s just something on tv. just sit quietly with your hands folded, don’t say anything controversial, don’t make waves. just accept it that some people have all the luck but you are not one of those people. laws are written for the people with money, people who are dialed in. connected. you’re not. you’re just a quiet little mouse with a quiet little squeek so stop trying to act like you’re someone important. you’re not one of the big dogs.
